Tetrate is looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer (SE) to add to our team. This person will represent all things technical in the sales cycle within our ever-expanding customer account portfolio. In this role, the Solutions Engineer works closely with sales, marketing, and product management to demonstrate product capability, inspire confidence, and effectively communicate the power of Tetrate product offerings. The Solutions Engineer position offers candidates vast opportunities for professional growth across various business and technology domains. What You’ll Do:

  • Jointly create and execute on account strategy while creating technical champions in the customer
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to deliver standard and customized strategic solution demonstrations
  • Conduct discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify, and document business requirements during the sales cycle to support the implementation team
  • Take learnings and requirements into consideration when creating an account strategy
  • Showcase functional capabilities while delivering presentations and conducting whiteboarding sessions as appropriate
  • Highlight competitive advantages and business benefits of Tetrate’s products and solutions throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation
  • Identify new customer opportunities or demands in their named accounts, as well as participate in demand-generating events and activities
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a software engineer or sales engineer; ideally a mix of the two
  • Experienced pitching to a range of people from Engineers to CIOs
  • Proven track record of navigating complex enterprises with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong advocacy of relationship-based selling and collaborative problem solving
  • The ability to own the full sales cycle from prospecting to some support
  • Practical understanding of Kubernetes container management software, the use of microservices and the DevOps approach in application development and delivery, and the use of cloud-native architectures
  • Formal or semi-formal education or structured exposure to Computer Science and distributed systems, and appropriate domain knowledge in these areas
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (especially Istio and Envoy) and the security and network domain benefits created when you use that software
  • Experience with the top cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP with a focus on networking and security capabilities
  • A reasonable ability to code and script, sufficient understanding of technical product offerings and produce custom demos and proofs-of-concept
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be a self-starter and proven team player in a 100% distributed environment
  • Previous start-up experience is a major bonus.
