Tetrate.io Events — Code of Conduct
Introduction
Tetrate and its community are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for all participants at our events, whether in person or virtual. Our events are professional gatherings intended for networking, learning, and collaboration. They must foster an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group.
By registering for or attending a Tetrate event (in person or virtually), you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. This policy may be updated at any time and is non-negotiable.
Expected Behavior
All event participants — including speakers, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, booth staff, and others — are expected to show respect and courtesy to others, act professionally, follow applicable laws and workplace policies, and help maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
Unacceptable Behavior
Harassment in any form is prohibited. Examples of unacceptable behavior include (but are not limited to):
- Harassment or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, religion, age, or other protected status
- Use of abusive, demeaning, or dehumanizing language, insults, or slurs
- Physical or verbal intimidation, stalking, unwelcome photography or recording, or sustained disruption of talks or sessions
- Inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention, or requests for sexual favors
- Use of sexual imagery or sexualized behavior in talk materials, booths, or presentations
- Impersonating event staff, misrepresenting one’s role, or deliberately misleading others
- Using event spaces (including virtual spaces) to promote political causes or campaigns, unless explicitly permitted
- Failure to comply with event health, safety, or venue policies
Participants asked to stop unacceptable behavior are expected to do so immediately.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
If a participant engages in harassment or other unacceptable behavior, Tetrate and event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to expulsion from the event without refund. Further consequences may include exclusion from future Tetrate events.
Violations may be handled even if they occur before or after the event, including via social media or other communication channels, if they impact the event environment.
Reporting Policy & What to Do
If you are being harassed or notice harassment, please notify an event organizer or designated staff immediately. You may also contact:
Email: events@tetrate.io
When you report an incident, you may request confidentiality or anonymity. Staff will treat your report seriously and respond promptly.
Incident Response
Tetrate event staff are trained to respond to harassment reports. Depending on severity, possible responses include:
- Warning or verbal intervention
- Removal of the offender from the event
- Escorting the reporting party to a safe location
- Contacting venue security or local authorities
- Banning the individual from future events
We will support those affected by harassment to ensure their safety for the remainder of the event.
Health & Safety Requirements
Tetrate may impose health or safety requirements depending on the event (e.g., mask policies, vaccine requirements, occupancy limits). These will be communicated before and during the event. Failure to comply may result in removal from the venue or event without refund, and/or future participation restrictions.
Pre-Event Concerns
If you have concerns about another attendee or situation before the event, please contact us in advance. We can take precautions such as:
- Assigning a staff escort
- Preparing on-site staff to intervene
- Adjusting seating or access
- Providing phone contacts or safe meeting points
Sponsors and Exhibitors
Sponsors and exhibitors must follow this Code of Conduct. Booths must maintain a professional and inclusive presence — no sexualized imagery, activities, or attire. Exhibitors may not use their space for political campaigning or promotion of causes unless explicitly permitted.
Enforcement & Changes
Tetrate and the event organizers reserve the right to enforce this policy at our discretion and to update this Code of Conduct at any time. Attendees’ compliance is a condition of participation in all Tetrate events.
