Tetrate makes ‘America’s Best Startup Employers’ list for second year in a row, based on employee satisfaction, reputation and company growth
SAN FRANCISCO—June 7, 2023—Tetrate, the provider of the world’s leading application networking and security platform, today announced it has been named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Startup Employers 2023. Making an appearance for the second year in a row, Tetrate ranks No. 137 in the list of 500 companies recognized in 2023 on the basis of three criteria: employee satisfaction, reputation and company growth.
Presented by Forbes in partnership with market research company Statista, the “America’s Best Startup Employers 2023” list was compiled by evaluating 2,600 U.S.-based businesses. “Startup” was defined as being U.S.-based, founded between 2013 and 2020, and currently having at least 50 employees. Companies did not pay any fee to be considered.
Tetrate was founded in 2018 by the creators and maintainers of the popular open source software projects Istio and Envoy. Varun Talwar, who previously served as the founding product manager on the Istio and gRPC projects at Google, and Jeyappragash (“JJ”) Jeyakeerthi, who previously led Twitter’s Cloud Infrastructure Management platform team, launched Tetrate with a vision to help platform teams and developers safely and reliably transform their infrastructure for the modern, multi-cloud era. Tetrate was named a 2021 Cool Vendor by Gartner for Tetrate Service Bridge, a service mesh solution that delivers comprehensive application connectivity, security, observability and reliability across multi-cloud environments. Earlier this year, Tetrate introduced Tetrate Service Express, a platform targeted at enterprises using a service mesh on Amazon EKS who want to use cloud-native and open source Istio and Envoy Proxy. Tetrate is also leading the way in helping the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) develop cybersecurity best practices for zero-trust architecture based on service mesh.
“Being recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Startup Employers for two years in a row is a tribute to the hard work of our entire team, which we assembled in a few short years and in the midst of a pandemic,” said Varun Talwar, co-founder of Tetrate. “Tetrate is blessed to have many talented engineers who are listening with empathy to the needs of enterprise customers and rolling those learnings into our product development effort. We are all inspired by the challenge of solving customers’ problems, and we find it incredibly rewarding to deliver smart solutions that meet those needs. That customer-driven approach to innovation is at the heart of our culture and drives Tetrate’s success.”
